Xenovenator is an extinct genus of troodontid dinosaur that lived during the Cretaceous period in northern Mexico. The type and only definitive species known is Xenovenator espinosai, but the genus may also include the dubious[1] Saurornitholestes robustus.[2]
Description[]
The skull of Xenovenator was unusually wide and rugose in texture, almost comparable to that of the dome-headed pachycephalosaurs. X.? robustus was tentatively assigned to this genus based on similar morphological traits, though no similarities were found to the skull of X. espinosai.
