Art impression of Wiehenvenator albati

Wiehenvenator albati is a genus of megalosaurid theropod dinosaur from Middle Jurassic Germany. It was originally found in 1998, but had no scientific name at the time. It was instead referred to as Das Monster von Minden (the Minden Monster). It was determined to be a megalosaurid in 2015 and was finally given its scientific name in 2016. The only known specimen of this dinosaur is a subadult, so it is unknown how large it could have been. It is a close relative of Torvosaurus.
