Trivia[]

  • The Utahraptor from the 2025 series is based on the unnamed indeterminate species discovered from the Poison Strip Member of the Cedar Mountain Formation, where Gastonia lorriemcwhinneyae and Planicoxa are also discovered.[1][2]
  • The inclusion of Cryodrakon in episode 4 is based on the indeterminate azhdarchid specimen found in the Horseshoe Canyon Formation. The BBC decided to use this genus name instead of referring it to as just an azhdarchid pterosaur, since Cryodrakon is the only known named azhdarchid in Alberta, Canada.[3] The unnamed azhdarchid pterosaur in episode 5 which uses the same model as Cryodrakon is based on the azhdarchid pterosaur trackway found in the Wapiti Formation.[4]
  • This series came out 12 years after the latest installment Walking with Dinosaurs: The Movie, which was the longest hiatus between shows. The second longest break was 8 years between The Walking with Dinosaurs movie and Walking with Monsters.
