Volgavis (meaning Volga River bird) is a small shore bird from Paleogene Russia. The type and only species is V. marina.

Description and Classification[]

Volgavis is a small bird, possibly belonging to the order Charadiiformes, which houses all shore birds. Not much is known about this genus, as not much material has been found.

Paleoecology[]

Volgavis is likely adapted to living near water, similar to modern day gulls or auks.
