CustomOasis is for your personal CSS and JavaScript pages only. Public use of it is against Wikia's Terms of Use.
Back in 2011, former Casualty Wiki administrator Eladkse created a custom skin for the Oasis/Wikia skin called CustomOasis. However, global changes to Wikia's layout broke the skin and the skin was deleted.
However, after updating the code to suit the current Wikia layout, I am proud to announce that CustomOasis is now available for Dinopedia!
Since some of the features of CustomOasis break Wikia's Terms of Use, I encourage Dinopedia administrators not to install the following code onto the wiki's main and currently non-existent CSS and JS pages.
Installing the Skin[]
To fully install CustomOasis onto Dinopedia for your eyes, you need two sets of code.
- Since I have been having issues with transforming the code into an import, you will need to copy the scripts at User:Lythronax/CustomOasis.css and paste them onto your personal CSS page.
- You will then need to copy the script at User:Lythronax/CustomOasis.js and paste it onto your personal JS page.
- Note: After saving, you have to bypass your browser's cache to see the changes.
- Internet Explorer: hold down the Ctrl key and click the Refresh or Reload button, or press Ctrl+F5.
- Firefox: hold down the Shift key while clicking Reload; alternatively press Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl-Shift-R.
- Chrome: press Ctrl+F5 or Shift+F5
- Opera users have to clear their caches through Tools→Preferences
- Konqueror and Safari users can just click the Reload button.
CustomOasis Features[]
- The small text Dinopedia wordmark has been replaced with a large custom banner which could soon become the wordmark on the regular Oasis skin - that is if it gets approved by the Dinopedia administrator.
- The wiki navigation is smaller albeit nicer-looking and sits comfortably below the wordmark.
- The navigation sub-menus are shorter and can now fit in more pages.
Bugs and Comments[]
Wikia is changing all the time, and we had to put some code into Oasis to make this skin work. Therefore, if you do spot an issue with either skin, please alert an admin or leave a comment below.
