Alright, so I am CoolJ7, one of the oldest members on this wiki and a long time admin and bureaucrat, as of today I noticed there was a request from Banglocephale on my wall to become an admin. I have not been active on this wiki for many years, having left Justisaurus in charge when I departed, though I now see he has gone inactive. I have come on every so often, but not really checked very much. I am looking to appoint some new admins, and I was wondering who the current community would recommend. Of particular note, there is Banglocephale who reached out and asked about it, and DeadMonkey8984, who seems to be a very active member of the community now. I hope to see quite a few responses here, to which I will be checking for periodically.
I do not know, that is why I made this thread, to see if anyone in the community had any input or suggestions.
I think admins should be made on activeness and contribution quality, not in which position of the leaderboatd they are.
Nobody else has any input? Also, the Lametasaurus page now appears to be a direct copy from wikipedia, which is plagiarism and prohibited. I hope there are not a lot of articles that have been copied from wikipedia.
CoolJ7 -- are you ok with promoting Banglocephale evnen though he is adding content from wikipedia?
Banglocephale -- you really need to add Template:Wikipedia to any page where you copy a lot of the content from wikipedia; their license allows people to copy the pages as long as attribution back to the original page is given, and the template takes care of that.

I would greatly prefer if he were to cease adding content from wikipedia. This is something we've tried to stop at Dinopedia repeatedly throughout the wikis history. My apologies for not responding to this sooner.
Ok, I do think we need new admins, in fact I think that we have always been a little small. Having said that I will try to commited atleast a half hour per day going forward, this might not be possible when I hit four year college but I'll try.

Agreed, the wiki has always been to much for just a an admin or two to handle. I will try to become a little more active, though my knowledge (and to some extent, my interest) of dinosaurs has long since depleted. I quite frankly do not know where to begin here, though. There are a lot more pages now than when I used to be active.
The biggest thing I'd like to see happen is an end to copying content from wikipedia. It's a practice we had managed to stop for a long while, but now it seems to have picked up again. We are Dinopedia, not wikipedia. Sourcing wikipedia is fine, but our articles need to be independent. Anyone may feel free to start forwarding problems to me on my talk page, I will get to them when I have the chance.
