Struthio coppensi is an extinct species of struthioniform bird in the family Struthionidae. It lived in Namibia during the Miocene 20 million years ago y es considerado el miembro más antiguo del género Struthio.
It is a smaller species compared to the common ostrich (S. camelus).
It receives its name in reference to the French paleontologist Yves Coppens, in recognition of its discoverers' research support.
