Stegotetrabelodon was a species of gomphothere from the late Miocene epoch. Its remains have been discovered in North Africa and in the Arabian Desert.

The largest species, Stegotetrabelodon syrticus, measured roughly 3 to 4 metres high at the shoulder.[1][2] This genus is the first example of elephant herd activity.
