The mysterious Dr. Lizardi entrusts Gary and Eric with a dinosaur egg. Now, they must find out everything they can about dinosaurs before the egg hatches. Their quest takes them everywhere from Knott's Berry Farm to a dig site deep in the Canadian Badlands... all leading up to the amazing birth of a feisty baby ceratosaurus.

  • The Stop Motion Dinosaurs from the Chiodo Brothers that were seen at the beginning of the opening Sequence of Son of Dinosaurs. It was also seen again in the other Documentary, “The Return of Dinosaurs” in 1993.
  • The stop motion designs of Tyrannosaurus rex, Parasaurolophus, Stegosaurus & Triceratops “Including Pteranodon“ are the same dinosaurs that were recycled for Land of the Lost (1991). But later had some changes, Like both Parasaurolophus & Tyrannosaurus rex for examples.
    • The T.Rex’s Skull was changed to having a short Snout in Land of the Lost. Some fans liked the T.Rex with the Robust looking Snouted Skull better in Son of Dinosaurs & The Return of Dinosaurs
  • In the videosaurus promo, the stop motion Saltasaurus was called Brontosaurus by Gary Owens.
  • If you listen closely to the T-rex, its roar sounds like King Kong From King Kong vs Godzilla and King Kong Escapes. Including King Caesar from Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla and later Godzilla Final Wars in 2004.
  • The Professor from the beginning of the feature was playing by Kenneth Mars who later voice as Grandpa Longneck AKA Littlefoot’s Grandpa from The Land Before Time & both most of the sequels & TV show. Including Professor Screweyes in the 1993 Film We’re Back! A Dinosaur Story. Especially Dr. Alexander Preloran from the 1998 Animated Action show Godzilla The Animated Series Episode 7 “Leviathan”.
  • The Black & White clip seen on the TV was from the 1940 Horror Movie called “The Devil Bat”.
  • There were 2 different versions of Son of Dinosaurs, Extended & Cut. There was as scene in a Football field where they unveiled a new Bronze sculpture Dinosaur for the New Mexica Museum of Natural History called Bistahieversor identify as an Albertosaurus. The Unveiling scene of the Albertosaurus can be seen in “The Return of Dinosaurs”.
