Anthropoids are all primates except prosimians. Anthropoid means human-like primate and is divided into New World monkeys, Old World monkeys, and hominoids. New World monkeys live in South America, Central America, and Mexico and are ranked together as platyrrhini. Old World monkeys live in Africa and Asia and are ranked catarrhini. The Old World monkeys evolved into the hominoids. Hominoids are bipedal and include gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans, Austalopithecines, humans, and human ancestors.
