Description[]
Skeletal reconstruction of Sierraceratops turneri(Found remains in blue).
Sierraceratops is diagnosed by: postorbital horns that are relatively short, robust, and mediolaterally compressed; a medial ridge that is flattened and has a posterior that stretches to the pterygoid; noticeable anterior flanges on the jugal; epijugal horncores that are long and pyramidal; the median parietal bar with a D-shaped cross-section; and a pointed tip and low episquamosal ossifications at the squamosal.[1]
Classification[]
Phylogenetic analysis reveals a clade containing Sierraceratops, Bravoceratops and Coahuilaceratops (the first two as sister taxa) that is restricted to the Southwestern United States and Mexico[2].
