Rio Apaporis Caiman is a subspecies of the speckled caiman that has some unique adaptations, extreme morphological characteristics. The Rio Apaporis Caiman has elongated thin skull and long snout and it has very light yellowish-white with dark blotching.

In 1955, it was described by a scientist and zoologist named Dr. Federico Medem who collected 20 specimens.
