Rhamphexocoetus volans is an extinct genus of bony fish, it lived during the Lutetian epoch of Monte Bolca. It displays features of both halfbeaks (i.e., its elongated lower jaw), and flying fishes (i.e., its elongated pectoral fins). Rhamphexocoetus most likely inhabited all ocean during it's time and was preyed on by most aquatic predators.
