Paramachaerodus is an extinct genus of saber-tooth cat that lived in Europe and Asia during the late Miocene from 15 to 9 Ma. It was probably the earliest member of this group. The species of this genus are P. maximiliani (which might be a synonym of P. orientalis), P. orientalis, P. transasiaticus, P. yingliangi. One species, P. ogygia was reassigned to the genus Promegantereon.
