Pakasuchus is an extinct prehistoric reptile belonging to the clade Crocodylomorpha. It lived in the early Cretaceous period, about 105 million years ago, and fossils were found in the Gondwana continental strata of Tanzania, Africa. Pakasuchus is particularly notable in that it had heterodont teeth, including some that beared a close resemblance to the molars of mammals. Pakasuchus additionally had reduced osteoderms on its body but retained them on its tail, which is unique among crocodyliforms.[1]
