Oreochima is a genus of extinct freshwater archaeomaenid fish from the lower Jurassic (about 183 mya) of the Queen Alexandra Range in Antarctica. During this time, the area was a temperate region with a freshwater lake system present, referred to as “lake Carapace”. Oreochima presumably fed on small invertebrates that lived alongside it within its ecosystem, such as mayflies and clam shrimp. The type and only species is O. ellioti.
