Ophiacodon (meaning "snake tooth") is an extinct genus of basal Synapsid belonging to the family Ophiacodontidae. It lived from the Late Carboniferous to the Early Permian of North America and Europe.

Ophiacodon has a large skull with a deep snout. The jaws were lined in severalsmall teeth.
