Niassodon is an extinct genus of dicynodonts that lived in Mozambique during the Late Permian period around 256 million years ago, with the only known species being N. mfumukasi .The name means "Queen of Lake Niassa" in local languages Chiyao and Nyanja. Like many related genera, Niassodon was around the size of an average human hand.
