Magicrater (meaning "magic basin") is an extinct genus of avemetatarsalian archosaur from the Middle Triassic Manda Formation of Tanzania. The type species, Magicrater ustalea, was coined by Alan J. Charig in 1956, alongside Teleocrater, in his doctoral dissertion in 1956 but was not formally described until 2018 when Sankar Chatterjee et al. (2018) described the remains, the left maxilla. A second species, Magicrater dysposus, was described by Chatterjee et al. (2018) known from a left maxilla from the Abrahamskraal Formation in South Africa.
