The Lower Devonian lasted from 382.31 to 372.15 million years ago.[1] It was the last part of the Devonian period, the Devonian as a whole is usually called the Age of Fishes.[2] This period experienced many extinctions, and was followed by the beginning of the Carboniferous period.
