Laurasia was one of two super-continents that comprised Pangaea (the other was Gondwana) and lasted from around 300 mya to 200 mya. Its name is a combination of Laurentia (the North American craton) and Eurasia (Europe and Asia). A super-order of mammals evolved on the isolated super-continent called Laurasiatheres--which includes shrews, moles, hedgehogs, Old World fruit bats, echolocating bats, Artiodactyls, Perissodactyls, Cetaceans, Carnivora, and pangolins.
