Ischigualastia is an extinct genus of dicynodont from the Late Carnian age and the Early Norian age in the Late Triassic Period. The genus was discovered in the Ischigualasto Formation of the Ischigualasto-Villa Unión Basin in northwestern Argentina and was also named after the formation.

Description[]

This species is an enormous dicynodont with short and high skull, lacking tusks.

Paleoecology[]

It lived with Hyperodapedon, Exaeretodon, Jachaleria, Saurosuchus and perhaps Herrerasaurus.
