Isaberrysaura (meaning Isabel Valdivia Berry's lizard) is an extinct genus of stegosaurian dinosaur that lived in the Middle Jurassic of Argentina. The type species is Isaberrysaura mollensis.

Discovery and Naming[]

The holotype (MOZ-Pv 6459) was discovered in deltaic sediment in Los Molles Formation. In 2017, it was described as a new species. The generic name is named after Isabel Valdivia Berry, while the specific name references the type location Los Molles Formation.

Description[]

It consists of a nearly complete skull, twenty-one back bones including dorsal vertebrae and cervical vertebrae, a sacrum, fragmented scapula,ribs, and several unidentifiable fossils. It might have been an omnivore. Its skull is 52 centimeters long and 20 centimeters wide. The sector of the left supratemporal fenestra is well preserved. The jugal is triradiate and the anterior process of the jugal forms the posteroventral corner of the antorbital fossa and surpasses anteriorly the base of the lacrimal. The dorsal process is relatively long. The skull has thirty-six teeth.

Classification[]

It was classified as a member of ornithischia. In 2024, Fonseca classified it as a member of stegosauria.
