Indotriconodon is an extinct genus of Mammal from the Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) of India. It's remain were discovered in Intertrappean beds. It was the last and youngest known Eutriconodont Mammal (The Previous record was held by the Alticonodon from Campanian of Canada) and was also a relatively large sized Mesozoic mammal.[1]
Description[]
It was a relatively large sized Mesozoic mammal. It's lower molar was smaller than Repenomamus but larger than other Eutriconodonts making it a Badger sized Mammal.
Classification[]
Indotricondon is currently classified as a Eutriconodont and is the sister taxa of Volaticotherini.
Paleoecology[]
Since it was discovered in the Intertrappean Beds, it co-existed with at least other ten mammal genera as well various squamates, turtles and dinosaurs.
