Description[]
Imperobator antarcticus ("powerful warrior") is a genus of theropod from the Late Cretaceous Snow Hill Island Formation of Antarctica. Before being described in 2019, it was nicknamed the "Na
ze Dromeosaur," despite the holotype foot lacking the sickle-claw characteristic of that group. It has been suggested that Imperobator may have been about the same size as Utahraptor. Despite being once called the "Naze Dromeosaur", Imperobator is actually a non-dromaeosaurid paravian. Its large size compared to other basal paraves may be a case of insular gigantism.
In Popular Culture[]
- Imperobator make its first appearance in Amazing Dinoworld 2, where three of them failed to hunt a group of Stegouros and a Puertasaurus. Their colours are based on the symbol of America, the Bald Eagle.
- Imperobator appear in Prehistoric Planet 2, where a family hunts a Morrosaurus but failed like the previous documentary.
