Ice Age is a media franchise produced by Blue Sky Studios. It consists of several full-length animated films, shorts and games. The plot centers on the adventures of mammals who live during the Pleistocene glaciation. It is one of the most successful animated franchises. With a total budget of $429 million, the first five films grossed $3,216,708,553 worldwide.
At the time of the release of the fifth part (Collision Course), the Ice Age became the first computer animated franchise consisting of five full-length films.

Ice Age (2002)[]
20,000 years ago, animals migrate south to escape the onset of cold weather. Manfred (Manny) the woolly mammoth and Sid the ground sloth find a lost human child and try to return him to the tribe. The saber-tooth tiger Diego travels with them, hoping to lead mammoth and sloth into a trap for his pack, but in the end he sides with Manny and Sid. In parallel with the main events, Scrat, a small mammal, is trying to hide his acorn for the winter and constantly gets into ridiculous situations.
Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (2006)[]
The ice is melting. The valley, where the Manny, Sid, Diego and other numerous mammals and birds live, is surrounded by a melt sea, ready to break through the ice dam. The animals go to a large ship in the far part of the valley. In the rising water, piranhas and two large ancient predators are released from the ice blocks, and Scrat tries to get to the acorn, which constantly rolls away from him, falls or is carried away in the paws of the bird. On the way to the ship, Manny, Sid and Diego meet the mischievous opossums Crash and Eddie, as well as the mammoth Ellie, who considers herself an opossum, and calls Crash and Eddie her brothers.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)[]
Scrat meets Scratte, a female saber-toothed mammal, and now they compete with each other for an acorn. Meanwhile, Ellie is ready to give birth, and Sid finds three eggs under the ice, from which the baby Tyrannosaurus hatch. Soon the cubs' angry mother appears and takes them and Sid to the warm underground world, inhabited by dinosaurs and other Mesozoic animals. Manny, Ellie, Diego, Crash and Eddie go in search of Sid and meet the weasel Buck in the underground world. Buck helps them in their search and is ready to protect them from Rudy, a giant albino Baryonyx.
Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012)[]

Scrat falls through a crack and lands on the earth's core. Running after the acorn, he hits the base of the earth's mantle and causes the core to rotate, which provokes various geological disasters and the split of the supercontinent on the surface. Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and grown-up Peaches find themselves isolated from each other by sea straits. To reunite, they have to go a long way and survive a meeting with pirates.
Ice Age: Collision Course (2016)[]

Scrat finds an alien ship in the ice and accidentally launches it into space. Trying to catch his favorite acorn on the control panel, he becomes an unwitting participant in the formation of planets and star systems, and also provokes the flight of a huge meteorite towards Earth. At this time, on Earth, Peaches is building a relationship with her boyfriend Julian, a woolly mammoth, who is trying to establish friendly communication with Manny, and Sid is unsuccessfully trying to find a girlfriend. The approach of the meteorite takes them all by surprise. Together with Buck, who went to the surface from the underground world, they will try to save the Earth from disaster.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (2022)[]
Opossums Crash and Eddie accidentally cause an avalanche and, ashamed, go into the dinosaur world, where they meet Buck and the villainous Protoceratops Orson.

Scrat
- Manfred (Manny), a woolly mammoth. A large and strong mammoth who lost his family in a collision with human hunters. In the second film, he has a girlfriend, Ellie, who later gives birth to a girl, Peaches.
- Sid, a ground sloth. A clumsy, absent-minded and unscrupulous sloth who was abandoned by his family. Sid loves children and wants to start his own family.
- Diego, a Smilodon. A saber-tooth tiger who abandoned his brutal pack and joined Manny and Sid. In the second film, it is revealed that Diego is afraid of water.
- Scrat, a small saber-tooth mammal similar to real-existed Cronopio. He appears in the background in the first five films and is constantly busy trying to find and hide his beloved acorn. Scrat cannot speak and communicates with characters of other species using gestures.
