Hyracodon is a rhinoceros from Oligocene North America. It left no ancestors of the same type, After it went extinct, there were no more slender running rhinos. Like the primitive horses, Hyracodon inhabited open forests and wooded steppes and turned from browsing foliage to grazing grass.
