Helveticosaurus zollingeri is an unusual Diapsid reptile that lived in Switzerland during the Middle Triassic period. It was unusual due to its resemblance to an amphibian or fish, despite being a reptile.
Description and paleobiology[]
It is theorized that Helveticosaurus was aquatic, due to its body shape. Its digits appeared to have been webbed, with a flattened, eel-like tail.
