Garjainia is an extinct genus of erythrosuchid archosauromorph of Early Triassic.[1]

Garjainia is a close relative of the more famous Erythrosuchus, and like that genus, Garjainia also had what appeared to be an oversized head. This head, filled with numerous sharp teeth would have been the primary killing weapon against the herbivorous animals of the time. The genus had two operate species, they were from the Olenekian of Russia and South Africa. It was approximately 1.50–2 m (5–6 ft 8 in) long. Garjainia prima from the Yarengian or Yarkenskian of Russia and Garjainia madiba from the Burgersdorp Formation of South Africa. [2]
