Fujianvenator is an extinct genus of anchiornithid dinosaur from the Late Jurassic Nanyuan Formation of Fujian Province, China. The genus contains a single species, F. prodigiosus, known from a partial articulated skeleton.

Description[]

It is exact ecological role is unknown whether it have had a more terrestrial or a wading lifestyle is unclear. Its latin name's meaning is : Fujian hunter. It was a relatively small animal approximately 641 grams ~ at most. This dinosaur exhibits an unusual set of morphological features that are shared with early avialans as well as troodontid and dromaeosaurid dinosaurs. The newly-identified species roamed Earth around 150 million years ago about the Late Jurassic epoch. 

The F. prodigiosus may be the youngest known member of the Jurassic anchiornithids. F. prodigiosus was a pheasant-sized dinosaur with a lower hindlimb (tibia) that is twice as long as the thigh (femur), a previously unknown condition for non-avian dinosaurs.
