Teleosaurus

Teleosaurus is an extinct genus of crocodilian. It resembled the gharial in its appearance.

Ecology[]

It shared the seas with the ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs throughout the Jurassic period and into the Cretaceous period. Its body was long and slim, and its back was heavily armored like that of a modern crocodile. Its powerful jaws were very narrow and long, and were lined with many sharp teeth. The teeth locked together when the mouth was closed, to form a trip for catching slippery fish or squid.
