Fasolasuchus vs

Fasolasuchus (on the left) attacking Lessemsaurus (on the right).

Fasolasuchus (meaning "Fasola crocodile") is the largest rauisuchian ever described, and the largest terrestrial predator that wasn't a dinosaur. It reached a length of 8–10 metres long and weighed 3 tons. Fasolasuchus lived 220-205 million years ago In Triassic South America. Its fossils date back at the Rhaetian stage of the Late Triassic 220-205 million years ago. It lived in Argentina where its fossils were found. Its skull is the only part of it discovered so far. The type species is known as F. loricatus.

Fasolasuchus was unique among rauisuchians in that It only had one single row of dorsal osteoderms or scutes where others like Postosuchus have many.

Description[]

It is quite possibly the largest known member of Rauisucha, with an estimated length of 8 to 10 meters (26 to 33 ft), even bigger then the prestosuchid Saurosuchus at 7 meters (23 ft) in length. This would make Fasolasuchus the largest terrestrial predator to have ever existed save for large theropods. Like Saurosuchus it had only a single row of caudal osteoderms, unusual among rauisuchians. It also had a hyposhene-hypantrum articulation that gave the vertebral column extra rigidity.

Like its close relative, Saurosuchus, it had more than one row of teeth.
