Extinct or Alive is an American wildlife documentary television programme produced for Animal Planet by Hot Snakes Media of New York City, the United States. It is hosted by conservation and television personality Forrest Galante, who travels to different locations around the globe to learn about possibly extinct animals and whether or not there is a chance that they may still be extant. The series has been involved in the possible rediscovery of eleven animals, namely the Zanzibar leopard, the Pondicherry Shark, the Fernandina Island Galápagos tortoise, the Miller's grizzled langur, the Yangtze giant softshell turtle, and the Rio Apaporis Caiman.

Trivia[]

  • After Forrest Galante believe that the Formosan clouded leopard is extinct in 2018 Park Rangers spotted the Formosan clouded leopards in two locations which would mean that there are not extinct.
  • Forrest Galante said that the Saola is first discovered in 1996 but it was first discovered in 1992.
  • Forrest Galante said that no photos of the Cape lion exist but it there is only one photo exist probably because he didn't see it.
  • It remains unknown if Forrest Galante will continue his expedition on finding the Formosan clouded leopard, Great Auk, Javan Tiger, Florida black wolf, Caribbean monk seal, Pachylemur, Newfoundland wolf, Saola, Southern Rocky Mountain wolf, Ivory-billed woodpecker, and Thylacine for the future seasons.
