Equis, The Evolution of the Horse
Equis: The Evolution Of The Horse is an animated short film about the evolution of the horse. It was made exclusively for the Smithsonian's National Museum Of Natural History and was shown in the prehistoric mammal area of the Fossil Hall for 25 years or longer. The film was removed when renovations began on the fossil hall around 2016. The animator, who also narrated the films, used it as his resume to get a job with the Disney animation department. He then donated the animation to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument in Colorado.
Synopsis: Shows evidence of evolution by showing how horses evolved throughout the Cenzoic era. Shows the evolution of the horses' teeth, skulls, and hooves over millions of years.
Runtime: 5 minutes
