Dakotadon was a genus of iguanodont, from the Lakota Formation of South Dakota, USA.

Dakotadon was first named in 1989, by David B. Weishampel, as Iguanodon lakotaensis. It was eventually named Dakotadon lakotaensis by Gregory S. Paul in 2008.

In Popular Media[]
- In the 1999 series called Walking with Dinosaurs, a North American "Iguanodon" appeared. As Iguanodon is a European genus, it is likely that this North American animal is Dakotadon. In "Giant of the Skies", the animal was brown with white stripes.
