The profession of paleontologist, and its subset the paleobiologist, involves the divining of the life, habitat and behaviour of an extinct organism, through the study of fossilised bone, skin, or, through the use of trace fossils, such as Coprolites, footprints or gastroliths. Many Paleontologists have risen to great fame through their discoveries, and remains an important profesion in both the life and earth sciences.
