Dinopedia

Invertebrates are any animal that lack a proper spinal column, whereas the ones who do would be called vertebrates. This is an informal grouping, but is used frequently by biologists as any animal that isn't in the clade Vertebrata. Examples of invertebrates include worms, insects, crabs, sponges, sea stars, jellyfish, snails, and cephalopods.
