Avialae

A clade of theropod dinosaurs including modern birds and their closest relatives. Some scientists apply the term "Bird" to this clade^[1], although this is not universally accepted. The oldest known avialan is Archaeopteryx (Often referred to as the first bird), which lived during the late Jurassic, however older potential avialans (such as Anchiornis) are known.
