Ankalagon is a genus of extinct mesonychid mammals endemic to North America during the Early Paleocene. A wolf to bear-sized carnivore, Ankalagon was the largest mesonychid from the Paleocene of North America.
Description[]
Ankalagon was a very large Mesonychid, with adults growing to the size of bears. Possible sexual dimorphism is shown in the size of the teeth and jaws of Ankalagon, with perhaps the male being larger than the female. This is dubious, however. The size difference could just be different species.
