Anchisaurus (Greek meaning "close lizard") was one of the smaller prosauropods. It is noted for having a small, slim snouted head, with ridged teeth for shredding leaves. It could have been bipedal or semibipedal[1]
Discovery and naming[]
Anchisaurus was named by Othniel Charles Marsh in 1885[2]. This was very early in the history of Sauropod study.
