The Alaskan Saurornitholestine is a currently unnamed genus of dromaeosaurid dinosaur from the Prince Creek Formation in norther Alaska. The discovery of this dinosaur is significant as it is the first dromaeosaurid fossils from Alaska that are not teeth.

Description[]

This Dromaeosauridae was a close relative of Saurornitholestes (which lived in the Prince Creek Formation as well). An adult specimen has not been found and the only specimens are fragmentary. [1]

Paleoecology[]

The Alaskan Saurornitholestine lived with the dromaeosaurids Dromaeosaurus and Saurornitholestes. Other theropods included the tyrannosaurid Nanuqsaurus, A large species of Troodon, an unnamed genus of Ornithomimosaur, and the ichnogenus of bird: Gruipeda. Along with theropods there were many herbivores such as Pachyrhinosaurus perotorum, an unnamed genus of leptoceratopsid, Alaskacephale, Edmontosaurus "kuukipikensis", an unnamed genus of thescelosaurid, and unnamed genus of ornithopod, and an unnamed genus of lambeosaurine.
