Age of the Great Dinosaurs is a Japanese TV film from 1979 directed by Shotaro Ishinomori, covering a story about how a flying saucer transports 3 kids to the Cretaceous Period and other prehistoric times where the kids learn life lessons about love and friendship while surviving among dinosaurs.
Plot[]
The movie is about a boy named Jun who discovers problems with pollution in the modern day, also being bullied at school. Later that night, he hears a mysterious call and sneaks out the house. Following the call, he goes to the beach and meets a girl named Remi and her little brother Chobi. After meeting them, a large flying saucer came from the sky and took them back to the past millions of years, letting them witness the start of evolution of life on earth. The kids watched the first sea plants appearing along with some early animals, including Trilobites, Ammonites, and jellyfish. Time quickly went by, letting the kids watch a scene of ancient prehistoric squid escaping a Dunkleosteus, with the cephalopod squirting ink and jettisoning away as fast as possible. As more time went on, the kids watch as a Hyneria walks out the land. More brief prehistoric scenes go by as a dragonfly flies over the water before getting snatched by an Eryops. Eventually they reach the mesozoic era, watching a volcanic eruption trigger the start of the Permian-Triassic extinction event. The UFO watches and tells that these things are inevitable while the kids watch. Soon after, schools of fish are shown being chased by a Archelon, along with the presence of a Tylosaurus, which scares Chobi. The 3 kids also witness a Pliosaurus attacking a Plesiosaurus. The predator bites the Plesiosaurus in the neck in a showy manner, even breaching the surface of the water. A Pteranodon soars by, passing a volcano and heads to the sea, catching fish from the plentiful ocean. Also the flying reptile jumps and captures a fish the Pteranodon got flash in the eyes also the mysteries UFO lands the 3 of the kids and leaves and somehow 2 Volcanoes Smoke is coming out of the volcanoes the forest was in this place and grasslands in the field with hills and mountains we see a flock of
