Acrocanthus ( meaning " high spine " ) was named by Czaplewski, Cifelli and Langsto. It was a carnivorous theropod.

It roamed the Earth about 150 mya. ( Cretaceous period ).

Most paleontologists classify it as a species of the acrocanthosaurus.

It could run on two legs, although it was mostly a quadruped.
