Acipenser
Scientific classification

Acipenser is genus of sturgeons that has existed from late Cretaceous to today in Montana, North and South Dakota, USA. The genus includes about 14 species (3 of which are still alive today). All three living species are threatened, with the European Sturgeon being critically endangered.
