Acipenser
Scientific classification

Acipenser is genus of sturgeons that has existed from late Cretaceous to today in Montana, North and South Dakota, USA. With about 19 species (17 of which are still alive today), many of which are threatened, it is the largest genus in the order Acipenseriformes.
