🚨 NEW DINOSAUR! 🚨
Elena Cuesta et al. just described Tameryraptor markgrafi - it was a carcharodontosaurid from the Middle Cretaceous of the Egyptian Bahariya Formation. Ernst Stromer discovered its remains on his expedition in Egypt and referred it the Carcharodontosaurus saharicus in 1931 (rediscribing it from "Megalosaurus" saharicus). Two photographs from the university of Huene Archive of the University of Tübingen are used to describe the holotype and referred specimen. It was lost in the Bombing of Munich.
Interestingly, it has a 3-centimenter nasal "horn", likely longer over 95,000,000 B.C. with a keratinous sheath.
The name means "Markgraf's thief from the beloved land" an epic name in reference the the legendary Richard Markgraf.
