And here’s a price of art I’ve been working on
Dat some really impressive art, but it’s really quite sad we won’t see any more of it.
Yes, predators usually take advantage of weaker animals in a herd. Sort of like how some larger theropods prey on the weak. And of course there are animals that like to eat dinosaur eggs. Which can also deter overpopulation. That paired with the constantly changing climate, and other natural causes do a pretty good job keeping the environment balanced.
During times of drought where food is scarce, ( of course it doesn’t have to be a drought ) some of the weaker animals may die off. Not to mention the myriad of different natural disasters which also help keep the population at a manageable amount.
I agree, I guess those time spans aren’t always correct. Some deinosuchus specimens may have lived longer than that. Kinda like how we sometimes presume an animal as extinct yet they then pop up later on. Just like the coelacanth.
@The dragnor i did consider that I was just saying deinosuchus never coexisted with rex Or Triceratops. But I dunno maybe in the future people may prove that wrong.
Correction : deinosuchus “may” have coexisted with Triceratops since deinosuchus went extinct near 83 million years ago while triceratops came onto the food chain about 82.5 millions years ago or later.
Deinosuchus never coexisted with triceratops or T. rex. And yes it did hunt down large animals but it probably never encountered large ceratopsians.
And you’ll also be surprised to see how often other dinosaurs compete with each other. Sure these situations usually don’t prove fatal but it can slow down the progress of a herd.
Probably natural causes or more agile creatures. Remember, T. rex can also ambush and so can other large and slow moving carnivores.
I agree lmao
It’s a very bad show. It sorta brainwashes people into thinking prehistory was just filled with violence. It gives people a bad impression on palaeontology, and occasionally puts in small bits of science so that it can be called “educational” yet many of the facts in the show are misleading, and after maybe 1 or 2 minutes of very boring diagrams and closeups of dinosaur skulls, it just gets right back to the blood and gore.
In my opinion ? Terrible show. 2/10
I dunno. I’ve kinda grown out of the “fanboy phase” if that makes any sense at all. I feel like fanboys have just been focusing on a tiny portion the vast array of wonders that is palaeontology.
Some people like to change facts to fit their point of view, some people aren’t really open to opposing opinions and just like to ignore the facts. It’s starting to get out of hand how far rex fanboys have gone just to deny the truth
Honestly I’ve always seen t rex as a slow creature. Honestly I don’t think rex could even possibly be considered as an active carnivore since it’s massive bulk would prevent it from maintaining such a high metabolic rate. It probably just stuck to scavenging or maybe occasionally hunting down slower prey or ambushing prey.
Actually I dunno about that, but deinocheirus very likely lived near waters like shallow rivers and might occasionally eat prey like fish. Just like how hadrosaurs sometimes ate crabs
Yea in rare situations. I actually got concept from a recent price of art I saw
And here’s a price of art I’ve been working on
Wow
Well yeah I guess this one was unfair lol.
The largest puru specimen stomps even the largest of snakes
