Forfedon is a predatory fish that lives in Loch Ness. It is four feet long, and seven inches high. It's name translates to "Scissor Tooth" which refers to the interlocking teeth they have that work like scissors. They are very similar to tiger fish in that there are holes in their jaws where their teeth can fit into when they close their jaws.
Their common name, and the name most people know them by is "Sharp Bulldog Fish". They were named as such because of their short faces which look like bulldogs. These fish are actually descendants of the monstrous Xiphactinus that lived during the Cretaceous period. However, these fish have adapted to live in a very different niche compared to their ancestors.
Since they are smaller, they live in swarms of fifteen each. They act almost like piranhas, using their combined strength to take down larger prey. And they are fairly quick. Most of the resemblance to their ancestors comes from the head, but the body is far shorter than Xiphactinus.
They are known to live in the deeper parts of the Loch and prefer to live in caves. Males like the one seen here usually have bulkier jaws and a bigger dorsal fin than the females. Though they are small, one bite could easily tear off a person's arm. Their jaws can also open up very wide, almost like snakes.
In terms of behavior, they are mostly passive and won't bother anyone. However, that is until they consider you a point of interest. To get their attention, they will first have to bite you once to get a feel for your skin. That will tell them if you are worth it or not because if your skin is too protected, they will lose interest. But if your skin is vulnerable, a frenzy will begin.
During mating season, some of them change color. Usually they are a dark, chocolate brown color, but when they want to attract mates, they may change their color to look a little more like green. Their main prey items conststs of catfish and other small, bottom dwelling fish. But they can go after bigger prey if they want to. But they never go after predators like Nessie because her skin is far too durable even for them.
