A few years after the impact
In Alaska, one of the last of the Giant Troodonitids finds a pterosaur carcass that will sustain it just a little longer.
I recommend listening to this while looking at the picture (https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=DGBP3ZTU5pdqRnXl&v=T8q9hGvb2j8&feature=youtu.be)
The one that was trying to feed on the Alamosaurus body
The Scavenger (Scientific name Odokatharistis Pennatus) is a Troodontid from South America. The name isn't completely true because although they do more scavenging than hunting, they still sometimes hunt small prey like lizards and mammals. In between the cretaceous and the events of the film, South America and North America became closer together, resulting in several species migrating from continent to continent (hence why there are animals like Noasaurids and Megaraptorans in North America, and animals like Troodontids and Stegosaurs in South America).
Size comparison.
I have not been online in a while for one reason, I left my home, and am attempting to go north, to Osaka. The reason being, i'm trying to get to one of the other Tartarus Industries buildings in Japan.
If you arent aware, I broke into an abandoned building belonging to an Italian company known as "Tartarus Industries." which I suspect has something to do with the dinosaurs appearing all over the world, and my father going missing. I havent found anything about it yet, the building I broke into in Fukuoka had all the important files burned, so I couldnt find out anything.
The building I broke into also had some projects about space travel and creating super foods, which I don't know why those would be in the same building as whatever project they were working on. You all can theorize about that.
It's been pretty hard traveling, especially with not having a car, and also it being winter. I've had to walk the entire way, and so far, i'm only half way there. I'm basically homeless right now. It sucks, and I hope it's worth it to find out whatever is going on.
This is a picture I took while I was Yamaguchi, I don't know, it just looks really cool imo, lol.
I've seen a few dinosaurs, and I even had a pack troodontid chase me through a forest, it was actually really scary. After doing some research, I suspect it was some arctic troodontid. I didnt know what I was doing, I was walking through a forest, at night, and I was lost.
I had my backpack opened, which I think made the troodons smell the food inside the backpack. The scary part was that they approached so silently, I didnt hear anything until a stick fell from the treetops. I looked up, and I saw tens, maybe hundreds of pairs of eyes staring from the trees, just out of the range of my lantern, so all I saw was their eyes.
Then, they fucking decended on me. A few landed directly on top of me, and I tried to throw them off me while running as fast as I could away. I got a few nasty cuts, I managed to throw one of them off, but there were hundreds chasing me through the woods, I could feel them nipping the back of my feet, trying to trip me, but luckily, before they could trip me, and then tear me apart, I ran onto a road, which very luckily was where a JSDF convoy traveling towards Aomori. The soldiers got the troodons off me, while a tank fired into the forest at the pack of troodons. It's main gun was firing at like, once per four seconds. It was crazy.
I thought i'd make this post to show that i'm alive, lol.

DISCLAIMER: MENTIONS OF BLOOD AND GORE
DISCLAIMER 2: This is not cannon to my story or cannon to lynx's story (at least to my knowledge, lynx can decide if it is or not, but I don't think it is.) I also got permission to make this by them as well.
@Why-are-they-back POV:
This has gone terribly wrong. We thought that there was salvation in this place. If you come across this, turn back. This building needs to be forgotten.
We came across the building while we were going through some forest. This place is somewhere in Florida, I'm not saying exactly where because if you're reading this, I don't want you to go there. I took a video near this place, all the leaves are falling and its fucking cold because of you know, the nuculear autumn/winter thats happening nowadays.
It's not helping that some fucking idiots in mobile alabama somehow got ahold of a nuke and tried firing it at the lights, but fucked it up and blew up the entire city. Now a ton of nasty shit is in the air, and I don't know if that caused what I saw in that building or what, but just… I don’t know. Out of everything, the shit inside that building might be some of the more fucked up shit.
I’ll start at the beginning, I guess. We were staying in some abandoned house. Pretty nice place I guess, minus the skeletons that were picked completely clean. There was some canned food though, and we decided to rest up there. Not much happened though. We noticed these two weird watchtowers, but we didn't see anyone in them. I’m pretty sure that there were some small settlements in that neighborhood. Me and my friends have come across a few like these in the past. Usually just consisting of a few abandoned tents, but sometimes they are inhabited, and we either trade with them, or run away from them.
https://youtube.com/shorts/ZwvTKl6KRMY
These were uninhabited. Again, just skeletons, picked completely clean. It’s not unusual to come across skeletons, but usually they aren't completely picked clean. Another strange thing, there were a lot of birds in the area. I still don’t know why. Everywhere else, birds have gone basically extinct, except, for you know, dinosaurs. The dinosaurs hunted them, and people just trying to survive are also hunting them, almost driving them to extinction, at least in the US.
But for whatever reason, there's so many birds lingering around this one forest. This forest also had another strange thing in it. This abandoned facility thing we found. And no, before you ask, this was not anything to do with tartarus industries. The building was unnamed. We walked around it a few times, but we only ever went inside it once.
Once.
That’s the subject of this post. The time we went in there.
Sam wanted to see what was inside, they suggested that there might be food, or supplies in there. It looked like a former government building, so there could be military-grade stuff in there. We went through the front entrance. I found a few skeletons laying on the ground. There was a small, dead therizinosaur laying in the main entrance. Around half of it was gone. Something had been eating it, but I figured we were safe since we were in a confined building, and we had weapons large enough to deal with whatever we came across (DB shotgun, rifle, 2 pistols) . I was very, very wrong.
We went into this one room, I don’t know what it was supposed to be for. There were these robot ant looking things. I don’t know what they were supposed to be used for, but right next to them was a pile of rotten apples with bite marks on them. Don’t know what all that was about.
Something moved outside. I didn't know what it was. I walked outside the ant/apple room thing, and I swear I had seen something dart across the hallway in front of me. It moved too fast to verify what it was though. Me and my friends decided to go see what it was, we were low on food after all. If we managed to kill whatever this thing was, from what I saw, we could got at least a week's worth of food.
Keep in mind, this building had been abandoned for months, at least by humans. Probably because of the prehistoric stuff coming back. The whole place had plants growing in it. We could see a very obvious trail of crushed leaves leading down a staircase. We followed it down this staircase, into this underground level. This place was massive. While we were tracking this thing down, whatever it was, we came across this big ass room. It was at least the size of a few football fields, and there were these giant pools of water in them. It was pretty dark, but I saw something floating in one of them. Whatever it was was pretty big. Whatever it was, it was also very dead. Most of it was bloated remains of a corpse.
There were still a bunch of human skeletons. I guess they were working here when it all happened, and had been preyed upon. There were also a bunch of robots they were working on, I guess this place at one point, must have been a lab or something. Then, we got to a really, really, really weird room. There were a bunch of half eaten dinosaur corpses. Some of these things didn't even look like dinosaurs. One in particular, was this one that looked sorta like a utahraptor or dakotaraptor. I say it kinda looked like one because it had it’s lower jaw ripped back, made it look like it was a half utahraptor-half helicoprion hybrid thing. Its eyes were wide open, but it looked dead. Flies and stuff were crawling on it, and its feathers were matted and stuff. I was wrong about it being dead. We continued our search around the building, but, strangely, a few times, we found a few doors closed. Something or someone was closing the doors on us, it was mildly annoying, but then it got serious when the door to the main level was found locked. We were confused. Was there someone with us?
We started looking around again. We raised our weapons, ready for a fight. Then, we went back to that room. All looked normal, but that weird looking raptor wasn't there anymore. But we didn't notice what was above us. There were a few lights hanging from the ceiling that were turned off. We didn't notice these until London was lifted from the ground by the raptor thing. It grabbed him by his head. Since the lights were turned off, we couldn't see what happened to him but we could reasonably assume that it wasn't pretty, especially hearing his pained screams and seeing his flesh, blood, and guts falling from the lights.
We blindly fired, screaming in fear and sorrow because we had just witnessed our friend be dismembered. I don’t think we hit it, and if we did it did absolutely nothing. It jumped from the light, and landed next to me. Sam fired at it, hitting it in the head. The force from the blast sent its head whirling around towards me, I fired two shots with the double barrel shotgun. It did nothing. Absolutely fucking nothing. Sure, it was wounded, but I swear it smiled at me. Seeing this, we all ran. When we looked back, it wasn't there. We tried running towards the door. We tried.
I was sweating, crying because I'd just seen one of my best friends die. Sam and I decided to put our backs to each other so that we could cover each other. I tried to ask Thomas for his opinion, but then I realized Thomas was missing. We frantically tried to find him, and eventually we did in what I think was supposed to be some sort of lab. We found what was left of him in a storage closet within the room… and also under a chair… and on top of a table.. I think you get the point.
He was dismembered. We had let him out of our sight for seconds, and he was dismembered.
Then, we saw it. It walked in. This time I could really see it. Before, it was in low light, but in this room, the lights were on. Its mouth was wound backward, its lower jaw looked like a buzzsaw. With a careful flick of its tail, it disarmed me, and then it went for sam. I tried to pick up my gun, but before I could, it was already on sam. I charged at it and tried punching it, desperately trying to get it off my best friend.
If I live after all of this, I won't forget what I saw. It got into her stomach, with its saw like lower jaw, and had grabbed her intestines and were now using them to strangle her. She was being strangled with her own intestines by that thing. That monster. It was fucking smiling while it was happening. I was sobbing, trying so hard to get it off, fuck I think I even bit it with my own teeth just to try to get it off. I even grabbed a bone on the floor from some other skeleton that was apparently someone named Jeffery. The last thing Sam said while she was dying, while she could barely breathe, was “run”. So I did. I grabbed the shotgun, I shot open the locked door, and I ran up to the main level. I heard it chasing me, it momentarily caught me. It grabbed me with its hands and sliced into my hip with its lower jaw. I shot it again though, which made it let go.
It wont leave the building, I know that. Once I got out, it just stood in the doorway, smiling. I continued running. I’m sitting next to a tree now. Why did I abandon sam? They are all going to be eaten now, if someone finds that place, they will just be nameless skeletons. I won't even be able to bury them. As I write this, I'm crying. I most likely won't be able to survive the night. Something else, one of the lights, another person, or another dinosaur will finish me off. I also have the gash on my side. I’ll probably bleed out even before the night. Even if I survive, I won't survive the week. I don’t have any of my friends and the supplies are still in the building.
Heh.
I think I was wrong again.
It can go outside the building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ob04h3954Xo
So that’s what the leaves crackling are.
If you find this, or see this post, don’t go into that building. We saw other things other than that fucking creature. Do not go into the building. Whatever is in there, deserves to be forgotten. If you do go in, please at least give my friends a proper burial, maybe me too, if there is anything left of us.
At least the sunset looks nice.
Its just gonna be a small keychain, thus the "cutesy-look", but id appreciate some advice for further improvement on what i have so far.
What im already aware of and fixing in my next session is the way the foot looks and the area between neck/belly and its hindlegs. tips?
Velocivenator Neos (New Swift Hunter) is a Troodontid. The black and blue coloration might be a little too vibrant for a desert animal, but it doesn't matter that much because this is fiction anyways.
Length: 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) without tail fan
Weight: 35 kilograms (77.16 pounds)
Lets rate this one as a Stenonychosaurus / Latenivenatrix or as a definitely valid ornithischian.

The Nova Insula reboot is nearing completion, so I'd like to create some hype and give you all some sneak peeks. 👀
The fauna included will be a mix of Hell Creek, the Morrison, and Jehol Biota.
An "Evolutionary recap" will be included with each Generation, summarizing recent speciation, extinctions, and more.
The story section of old Nova Insula will be majorly overhauled, and each Generation may even have 2 stories incuded!
Both speciation and extinction will be greatly expanded upon, with different populations dividing into different species, allopatry (?), mass extinctions, and more!
Get ready for a wild journey in the evolutionary tides of this primal planet, coming soon!

So, Troodon is invalid and now Stenonychosaurus, and I understand that. What I don't get is:
1: Why the family is still called Troodontidae if the type genus is reclassified.
2: Why Troodon was made invalid.
During Lindsay Zanno's presentation I went to, it was stated that Tyrannosaurus was mentioned in its paper two sentences before Dynamosaurus, which was its second name (first being Manospondylus gigas). Since it was two sentences before, T. rex was valid and chosen to be used.
So what made Troodon invalid? It was named 76 years before Stenonychosaurus, albeit only from teeth. So, if I'm thinking this right, wouldn't the teeth match Steno fossils and make it Troodon? Or am I overthinking the rex situation and the Troodon teeth belong to Steno because the latter is more complete than the former?
For a long while, I've wondered why the family is still named after Troodon if its name is longer correct.

(Been waiting to write this one for a while now!)
Commander: Alrighty, the plan is simple! Team A will take 6 of the Sillo's whilst B takes the other half! Team C, you deal with the Saltrio! Do we have any questions?
(Silence)
Commander: Ok then, Roll out!
We headed into the everglades, as much as we disliked it. My group of primarily local hunters seemed a bit discouraged, So I tried to lighten the mood.
Me: What you doin this for?
Hunter: My family, we could use the money.
Me: Thats swe-
(Spots Sillo group)
Me: FIRE!
We fired blanks at the Sillo's to scare them in the direction of the trap, but then they got in the water and started swimming away.
Hunter: SHIT! How do we catch them now?!
Me: Government supplied us with airboats! Don't worry.
We hoped in the airboat the government had supplied us and managed to her the Sillo's into the trap.
Me: Where is team 2?
Commander: They will be here shortly.
Team B barged in while still firing blanks at the Sillo.
Commander: CLOSE THE GATE!
The gate closed, and we all celebrated.
Me: Wait, where's team C?
Team C fled for their lives from the Saltrio, which accidentally pushed it into the trap. We closed the gate on it Aswell.
An hour went by, we were still waiting on the containment helicopter to arrive... when this happened.
Hunter: Something big's coming towards us!
Commander: What is it!
Hunter: Don't ask, more bracing for impact!
I distinctly remember what that beast looked like, it was some huge Metriacanthosaurid with a bit of basal ceratosaur in it. It turned to face the Saltrio, only to rip the head of it. We were all terrified when all the sudden...
?: Don't move
Me: Where the hell did you come from?
Soul: Names soul, that thing is MY property, and I want my Malusaurus, so please don't kill it.
I had enough at that point and just decided to book it out of there.
Soul: (Snaps fingers) Kill that guy.
That made me run even FASTER, and when I saw humanoid EYES catching up to me, I clocked out at cheetah speeds. I reached the park... only for Jacob to be there.
Jacob: What happened!
Me: Do you really want to hear?
Jacob: (Sigh) Of course.
