Thalassodromeus

Hello everyone! OceanStudios here, I'm happy to annouce that Red and Chad are 1 year old now! As characters obviously, not inside the lore.

First of all here are the names and species of all the new characters revealed;

1. Kowalski - Halszkaraptor

2. Edwin - Enhydriodon

3. Lyra - Leallynasaura

4. Theodore - Thalassodromeus

Second, I realized there's a lot of characters in the cast that are inside the theropod group so I'll try to make more characters from other groups. So yeah, that means Kowalski will be likely the last theropod you'll see in a while.

And last but not least, HUGE thanks to @Ornithomimus65 for coming up with the names of this dynamic duo since the first day! See you soon and Happy Red and Chad Day!

On Gondwa, Red Island, it was mating season. In the large crowd, a young male Thalassodromeus was looking for a mate, when accidentally, he bumped into the larger, mature Thalassodromeus, who the Marine locals call him, Moto Moto, or specifically Moto. The younger Thalassodromeus would do his best to aggressively screech at Moto, but Moto would give out a more intimidating screech, getting the crowd’s attention.

They would both fly to the large pointed rock in the middle of the lake, and would surround it and got up higher and higher until they reached the top. They both landed, and Moto would go for the younger Thalassodromeus’ crest. The younger one would cooperate and be pulled the same way, causing Moto to fall. The younger one would grab Moto’s wing, but Moto got up and bit his crest once more. He would nearly trip, but he scratched a line onto the Younger one’s crest, causing unbearable pain. Moto would later throw him into the lake, with the last thing heard of the younger one would be his regretting cries.

A week later, the younger one was still somehow alive. He noticed mating season has passed, and was furious.

A year later, on the next mating season, the younger Thalassodromeus would hide at the top of the rock, being able to hide in the tree. He would oversee the fight between Moto, and another Old, Mature individual, Kato. The younger Thalassodromeus wanted revenge so bad, he jumped out of the tree and onto Moto’s back, nearly breaking his back. Kato flew away in fear, as the crowd looked curiously at who this familiar male was. He would poke large holes into Moto’s wings, and grabbed his crest, and would throw Moto into the lake, just as Moto did to him.

Then, he focused his eyes on the crowd, looking at all the fear and adrenaline in their eyes. He saw Kato standing infront of the crowd, and would pin down Kato on his back. Kato would look at him, screech at him aggressively. The younger Thalassodromeus would stab his chest, making all the crowd go haywire, and they would fly away. It was clear, before they flew away, a passing Hatzegopteryx would claim his name be Ghost.

This is the "Dragon Bird" (scientific name Ornithodraco Magnicristatus), a pterosaur found in the primordial world. it is the first animal seen in this movie/game, and the main characters mistake a flock of them for birds until they get closer. I don't know how to make a size comparison for this, so I'll just say that their wingspan is 4.2 meters.

Unlike other Pterosaurs, Dragon Birds mainly eat small land animals instead of fish.

So, a contentious topic in the video game side of the dinosaur community is whether or not the designs in a game are accurate, some games, like JWE get more Leeway due to being a Jurassic world Tie-in Game but its most recent designs have ranged from ok to phenomenal, but games like path of titans says it is trying to be accurate, so lots of people were mad when T-rex, pachycephalosaurus, pycnonemosaurus, kaiwhekea and thalassodromeus didn't turn out the best, some got the designs close enough to be ignored others rightfully got critique so lets go through this list give a new take on some designs

1. T-rex

Some people were saying it was too thin, I personally don't see it. but the bigger problem is that 2/3 of the subspecies look the exact same and have no teeth but

aside from that maybe the arms seem a little longer than they should be.

2. Pachycephalosaurus

This one looks pretty good (as long as you ignore the speed variant) but I have two big problems. One: its legs seem a tad too long. and Two: its upper and lower jaws are shaped weird, I can't but my finger on it but if I am remembering correctly, Its upper jaw had no beak, but had an angular ending or maybe a pseudo-beak. the lower jaw of PoT's pachycephalosaurus has a more rounded angular and the dentry has no beak which everyone can agree that it had . also its eyes don't seem the right size or position (Balanced one)

3. Pycnonemo-Taurus

This is probably the worst design in path of titans(only with severe competition from kaiwhekea) only one subspecies looks realistic, heck, any compromise would be better than the versions we have now. For example, the hornless one being the default and having the other 2 subspecies horned or default being horned as long as the others either have one horn or none at all. I don't think there is anything else that no one has said already , but on an unrelated note his sounds and emotes are incredibly unique, too bad his model is riddled with problems.

4. Kaiwhekea

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I think the model actually doesn't suck as bad as everyone says it does, first the lips, lips are a confusing thing in plesiosaurs, due to how uniform their teeth are lips are a possibility(then again river dolphins also have organized teeth without lips) the head is either giving it extra nasal cartilage or they accidentally done goofed. but in my mind either is likely. however the model is fine but the locomotion seems slightly off (they are recently fixing locomotion in sarco and eotrike so maybe it's next) and the most egregious thing about this boy is that they gave it the wrong diet but I have a theory as to why *puts on tinfoil hat* I think the devs were originally planning on eurhinosaurus to be released but maybe the file got corrupted or the model didn't look good, so they rushed kaiwhekea out and didn't give it filter feeding since there were too many bugs with the system , so the locomotion is messed up, the skull is messed up and the diet is messed up (I didn't say it was a good theory)

5. Thalassodromeus

This one has essentially everything right, model is good, sounds are unique the skull isn't messed up, they didn't give it Pteranodons crest for no reason, the only thing wrong is the fish eating and the fact it isn't able to even hunt deinonychus (please give a bite damage buff devs, every problem will be fixed) some people, hower say the size is over exaggerated, but in reality the size in only a little more, maybe only differing a few inches or so.( I could be wrong as I cannot find a path of titans size chart That has Thalassodromeus in it

In short I don't think designs are the biggest problem in the game when only 2 are horrendously awful but there is a far larger problem that connects to design.

Map design is next

If you guys don’t know (which idk if I should’ve said that), Path of Titans made an update about a few months ago and let me just tell that Path of Titans has screwed the fuck up with their new update. If you don’t know what I mean, this is Path of Titans’ new update.

You might ask, “what’s wrong with it?” or “why do you have a problem with it?” well, I have a lot of problems with it. Thalassodromeus and Kaiwhekea. Here are the that Path of Titans had to go through before this god-awful update.

1, Tyrannosaurus.

Amargasaurus was the very last good design they had before making massive screwups with their designs, and while I don’t really have a problem with the Tyrannosaurus since it’s pretty much the only “screwup” I don’t have a problem with, it’s definitely something reminiscent to the 2000s Tyrannosaurus but all and all, it isn’t that bad. But now we go onto number 2, Pachycephalosaurus.

Pachy isn’t that bad but it’s head is so uncanny and very weird for me to even look at, it looks a lot like a Theropod instead of an actual Pachycephalosaurus, it’s so hard for me to explain why it’s so fucking weird, whatever it is, it’s wayyyy too uncanny for me to look at. But now, we go to the dumpster fire shit that I just have a huge problem with, we have “Pycnonemosaurus”, and for this one, I’m going all Arabic with this one.

This is not fucking Pycnonemosaurus, this is just a reskin of a goddamn Carnotaurus. Astagfirullah this is haram! This is just Carnotaurus, in fact, people are just defending it saying like “uHm, CaRnO’s ClOsEsT rElaTiVe Is PyCnOnEmO, iT’s JuSt SpEcUlAtIoN” no, no the fuck it’s not, it’s just a lazy reskin of a more popular dinosaur. Now, we have the 2 creatures added to the game that are nothing but 2 huge wastes of potential, Kaiwhekea and Thalassodromeus

First, let’s go through Thalassodromeus. First of all, while the design of Thalassodromeus is pretty nice, the role it’s going to be put in is just nothing but an utter waste of potential. Thalassodromeus was a goddamn macropredator, meaning that it was able to hunt creatures on land, it wasn’t like other Pterosaurs where they were more or less piscivorous or scavenger, think of it as like an eagle or hawk, not a vulture or heron. Now, we go to the dumpster fire shit they call “Kaiwhekea”. God please bless this poor thing’s soul, it looks absolutely dogshit. First of all, why the fuck does it have lips? It was in a family that did not have lips, Plesiosauridae. Second of all, they’re Aristonectines (which they’re an absolute disgrace to the Aristonectinae), they weren’t fish eaters, they were filter feeders and had much more thicker bodies with a much different skull and had shorter necks than their Plesiosaur relatives. If I remember correctly, according to Scanova the Carnotaurus, they were also gonna add Eurhinosaurus and Rhamphorhynchus, which actually did the same things that these 2 creatures are gonna be doing. I understand that they didn’t make Thalassodromeus a terrestrial stalker like Hatzegopteryx, but still, it still would have been a terrestrial stalker knowing that they were gonna be adding Rhamphorhynchus and Eurhinosaurus and that they would have at least made Kaiwhekea a herbivore of the sea.

The game might not be about actual facts and more about survival, I get that, but all I want to do is at least show my opinion about the update Path of Titans did, so on that note, this concludes the rant about Path of Titans.
