Baryonyichinae is a clade of Spinosaurid Theropods consisting off
Baryonyx
Ceratosuchops
Riparovenator
Iberospinus
Suchomimus
These 5 all share similarities, their very tally built with every member exceeding 3 Meters in Height and they had LONG and powerful arms and if Suchomimus is a base they also had massive shoulder bones that probably anchored massive muscles, now(Excluding Suchomimus) most of them were probably swimmers and fish eaters but if they NEEDED to hunt land prey this is a theory I made on how they hunted
Their shoulder bones allowed them to move their hands forwards Backwards but most importantly to the side
So…..that got me thinking about how they hunted prey
I will use Ceratosuchops and Brighstoneus as a base
Part 1:Ceratosuchops stalks a herd of Brightstoneus
Part 2:Ceratosuchops goes for the chase
Part 3:Ceratosuchops singles into a single Brighstoneus
Part 4:Ceratosuchops runs over Brighstoneus and then….
BAM
Ceratosuchops digs it’s claws deep into the Brighstoneus’s Shoulders and immobilizes the Brighstoneus before biting down onto the Brighstoneus’s neck and killing it
This is my theory on how Baryonychinae Spinosaurids ate
And all 5 lived with smaller ornithopods they could reasonably hunt
Baryonyx lived with Mantellisaurus(Which is evidently hunted)
Iberispinus lived with an unamed Iguanodon species the same size as Mantellisaurus
Ceratosuchops lived with Brighstoneus and Mantellisaurus and Riparovenator could have hunted Iguanodon(If Dan Folkes’s Riparovenator is accurate)
Suchomimus lived with both Ouranosaurus and Lurdusaurus
BUT HEY THAT’S JUST A THEORY,A DINOSAUR THEORY
